As the high street struggles to evolve within an ever-changing retail landscape, we want to help by encouraging customers to rediscover and re-believe in the value of local. Our solution is to connect places with people in an effective and engaging manner and enable them to ‘discover’ and ‘explore’ their local town or city.
We can do this via MyTownMyCity, the Place Network, a high street marketing platform which we designed to support local businesses. The platform works to attract new footfall, increase average spends and create new customer engagement. On and off-line, it showcases the best places have to offer all year round, with continually updated content about new launches, promotions, initiatives, local news and events taking place within the area.
Businesses, local customers and visitors are connected via an easy-to-use and FREE to subscribe digital platform with content promoted online, in-stores, through city guides and social media, all neatly packaged under the MyTownMyCity umbrella.
We are delighted to be adding Folkestone to the MyTownMyCity family with the launch of MyFolkestone in September 2019. Folkestone is the second ‘place’ following the arrival of MyCanterbury in 2014 which not only delivered a positive impact to the bottom line of many businesses operating in the city but has also enabled visitors and tourists alike to explore the city and all that is has to offer.
We are always seeking the next ‘places’ to be added to the MyTownMyCity portfolio and there will be consistent improvements, added features and benefits as well as expanded experiences to ensure that we are providing up to date content and are ahead of the trends.
Supporting local initiatives, focusing on those that will benefit local businesses, is hugely important to us and in Canterbury, we are proud supporters of their Business Improvement District (Canterbury Connected BID).
As we launch MyFolkestone, we are delighted to announce that we will be donating profits from sales of our degradable MyFolkestone Offer Cards to Folkestone’s Town Team. The funds will go directly towards high street initiatives, including window vinyls for vacant units, networking events and its local business awards annual event, which celebrates the amazing work and investment that the businesses of Folkestone bring to the local economy and vitality of the town. MyFolkestone Offer cards can be purchased on the high street from Folkestone Museum or purchased online here.
Supporting local is a cause that we are truly passionate about at MyTownMyCity and now you can join in too! Whilst shopping and enjoying your town using your MyFolkestone card, you can give yourself a big pat on the back at the same time for your doing your bit to support the Great British high street.
